What Happens at Your First Visit

Your new patient appointment is 30 minutes. Here's how it goes:

1

Health History

Dr. Britt reviews your intake form and asks about your symptoms, history, what's helped, what hasn't, and what your goals are. This takes 5–8 minutes and shapes everything that follows.

2

Functional Movement Assessment

Using the SFMA protocol, Dr. Britt evaluates how you move through a series of controlled patterns. This reveals where your movement system is breaking down and what's driving the pain — not just where it hurts.

3

Findings & Plan

Dr. Britt explains exactly what she found — in plain English — and lays out a clear care plan. No vague timelines, no pressure. Just an honest picture of what's going on and what it will take to fix it.

4

First Adjustment

In most cases, Dr. Britt performs your first adjustment in the same visit. You will not leave without treatment having started.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing you can move in
  • Your insurance card (if using insurance)
  • List of current medications
  • Any relevant imaging reports (X-ray, MRI) — not required, but helpful if you have them
  • Arrive 5–10 minutes early to complete your intake paperwork

Insurance

We accept some insurance plans. Call 607-590-6066 to verify your coverage.

New Patient FAQs

What happens on my first visit? +

Your first visit is 30 minutes. Dr. Britt will take a full health history, perform a functional movement assessment to identify the root cause of your pain or dysfunction, explain exactly what she finds, and — in most cases — perform your first adjustment in that same visit. You will leave with a clear picture of what's going on and what the care plan looks like.

What should I wear or bring? +

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing you can move in. Bring a list of any current medications, any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI reports), and your insurance card if you're using insurance. Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit to fill out intake paperwork.

Will I get adjusted on my first visit? +

In most cases, yes. After the assessment, Dr. Britt will explain her findings and — unless something in the exam indicates we need more information first — proceed with treatment. We don't believe in making you wait three visits to actually start getting better.

Is chiropractic safe? +

Yes. Chiropractic care has one of the strongest safety records of any healthcare profession. Serious adverse events are extremely rare. Dr. Britt performs a thorough assessment before treatment to ensure the techniques she uses are appropriate for your specific situation.

How many visits will I need? +

That depends entirely on what's going on. An acute injury in a young, healthy patient might resolve in 4–6 visits. Chronic issues that have been building for years typically require more consistent care over a longer period. Dr. Britt will give you an honest estimate at your first visit — not a vague "let's see how it goes" answer.

Do I need a referral? +

No referral is needed to see Dr. Britt. You can book directly online or by calling 607-590-6066.
