Frequently Asked Questions

Should I get an MRI before coming in?+

Not necessarily. Most back pain can be accurately assessed and treated without imaging. Dr. Britt will let you know if she believes imaging is clinically indicated — and in most cases, it isn't. Many patients have been told their MRI shows "a bulging disc" without understanding that bulging discs are extremely common and frequently asymptomatic. We'll put your imaging in context if you have it.

How is chiropractic different from physical therapy for back pain?+

Both are valuable. Chiropractic is particularly effective at restoring joint motion and addressing nerve irritation directly. Physical therapy focuses heavily on exercise rehabilitation. Many patients benefit from both. At Twin Tiers, Dr. Britt integrates movement retraining and functional exercise guidance into chiropractic care, so you're getting elements of both approaches.
